Most Rt. Hon. Priest/ Prophet Royal Ambassador Priest Rithmond McKinney has been a member of the Ethiopia African Black International Congress for the past 26 years, and has been at the forefront of the Bobo Shanti struggle for recognition and equal rights and Justice in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, the Diaspora, and the world.
King Emmanuel 7, the Black Christ |
Royal Ambassador Priest Rithmond |
He returned to the Bahamas where he was reincarnated in South Andros and he began serious agitation and lobbying to the then Prime Minister Sir Lynden Oscar Pindling on the black man true Bill of Rights, which grants him his Freedom, Redemption and International Repatriation out of the Diaspora.
The then Prime Minister Responded that, "There is no impediment in your way once you obtain a passport and visa from the prospective African Government." Prophet Rithmond called this a bogus statement as, "We know that we haven't obtained any passport or visa to come in the Western world; we were taken out against our own will."
Prophet Rithmond rallied for support locally and internationally, and submitted official letters to many of the various ministries of the government, members of the clergy and organizations on behalf of all black man and woman in the diaspora.
In 1990, Prince Emmanuel sent a telegram to Prophet Rithmond stating that he appointed him a Priest/ Prophet and Royal Ambassador of the EABIC headquarters, jamaica, with authority to open a branch of the Congress in the Bahamas.
The agitation continued with Priest Rithmond making the EABIC presence known through newspaper articles and television interviews, attending countless conferences; and even arranging many of the conferences in the Bahamas which focused on Africa and black man repatriation to the Motherland. The agitation continues even today and Priest Rithmond is known to the current Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Perry G. Christie and the EABIC Bahamas Branch has grown in numbers from the days when Priest Rithmond agitated with just a few members. As the agitation grew, sos did the number of angels including warriors on the repatriation front such as Priest Jerard, Priest Walter, Priest Vince, Bobo Trevor, Prophet Ezra, Bobo Chester, and Priest Blyden; and Empress Bonnie, Empress Vivian, Empress Verda, and Empress Corrine. Many other mansions in Rastafari joined the struggle through marches petition, and statical and governmental agitation, led by Priest Rithmond.
He lobbied with the Organization of African Unity in 1992 at the same time, he was lobbying the American Interior Government in Ethiopia for the re-instatement of His Divine Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I sovereign government in Ethiopia, and to set up our Ethiopia Africa Black International Congress Headquarters in Ethiopia. The Congress is still present in Ethiopia and lobbying for our freedom, redemption and international repatriation.
Due to Priest Rithmond's continued agitation internationally in the Motherland and in the Diaspora and the Bahamas over the years, in 1997, the Royal Prince of the Monarchy of Ethiopia, Prince Ermias Sahle Haile Selassie, grandson of His Divine Majesty, President of the Crown Council of the Sovreignity of Ethiopia, visited the Bahamas. During a special ceremony, he bestowed a royal medal from the Battle of Adowa from the dynasty of Emperor Menelik II upon Priest Rithmond for his ceaseless work to fulfill the call of King Emmanuel to redeem Africa and all her children in Righteousness of Salvation continues.
The gold medal was to foster a unity among all Rasta Houses and black people in general to one common cry: "Africa for the Africans, those at home and us abroad."
